Apple Event October 16, 2014
Apple Event today was a great end to the week. Today Apple came out with 2 new big things that Apple users have been expecting for the last couple of weeks/months. The two new major things that were announced today were the iPad Air 2 and OSX Yosemite.
First I'm going to talk about the new iPad Air 2. Wow, I don't know how they did it again but its keeps getting thinner. The iPad Air 2 is now 18% thinner than the previous iPad Air. Since this device is 18% thinner the device weight is just under 1 pound at .96 pounds. Not only did the hardware of this device change but so did the internals. The iPad Air 2 has just of 3 million pixels which means their is 264 pixels per inch. For this powerful device you need a powerful battery. This iPad Air 2 is equipped with a battery that last up to 10 hours long. iPad Air 2 also has 2.5x faster graphics to equip for its 40% faster CPU. Other things that are making Apple Developers go crazy is the new A8X chip equipped with a brand new coprocessor. All around this device is a beauty and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Another big thing that was announced today was OSX Yosemite. OSX Yosemite has an all new look and feel. Apple has been talking about a new OS for a while now but today it was announced. This size of OSX is 5.16 GB which is not very big for everything added in this OS. My favorite thing about OSX Yosemite has to be Continuity. Continuity in OSX allows users to pick up and continue on what they have been working on in a IOS device. If I was to start this blog on my Mac which I did and then I needed to go eat... I could continue this blog on my iPhone with a smooth transition.
All in all my favorite part of the Keynote is when Craig Federighi was making his presentation and he called Stephen Colbert and they had to "Secure the Line". Todays Apple Event was well put together and as always entertaining. Great Job Apple.
